WALT reflect on our learning

1. My Learning

Share what you’re proud of learning / what you enjoyed / what you found challenging. I am proud of my Jeff thomson biography, I enjoyed gathering information for my biography, I found the rich maths task that we did lately `challenging.  

2. Learning Buddy

Share what you were good at and what you would like to do better. Give your learning buddy a compliment for what they did well. I have been good at finding my learning buddy when we need to go together. I would like to do better next time is to help my learning buddy when she doesn't understand the learning task. I give my learning buddy a compliment saying they have been one of my best learning buddies helping me out with all the things I needed to get done!

3. Managing Self-Time

How is this going for you? How are you using time? How are you aiming for your personal best? I think i'm going well when it comes to tracking sheet time and I use the time wisely. im using Time to learn and give my personal best in to everything I can. I am aiming for my personal best because I come to school to learn, create, share, and explore what there is to learning.

I looked up at the massive 3d print of a human from World War One. There was gunshots and blood, cuts and blisters/bruises. Everywhere there were people sick and most people were half sliced and shot. It was really sad looking at the information on the wall of the exhibition at Te papa. One thing I didn't know was how little water they got each day. It was just a little drink bottle for Dishes, Washing, Drinking, and for food. When now in our world we use drink bottles for just drinking, and we use showers and bathtubs for washing. It is seriously ridiculous on how much water we use these days. When than in world war one they couldn't afford to tip water out. There was about 6-7 different 3d prints of people from world war one. There were also Huge I pads that you could read information on too. When we got to the end of the exhibition there was this table full of poppy making and Anzac arts and crafts. So we did a few poppy making and put our poppies we made on the least we forget sign with other people's poppies all around it. When we got out we drove home and started making a roast for tea. Once we had dinner I started getting ready for bed because it was late. But when I was getting ready for bed I started to think how lucky people are now, compared to how people were in world war one.    

Maths Table Demonstration - Week 11

This is my Maths Table Demonstration. The whole point of this task was to prove you could do a graph. So the graph I did was asking people there favorite clothing and the color of it. We used a ruler and a pen or pencil.

Art work

I am posting this because: I put a lot of effort into this and it is my favorite piece of art.

I was learning to: Design a piece of matariki art and learn about the matariki stars.

Movie

I am blogging this because: I think me and Georgia did a really good job and we enjoyed doing it.

We were learning to: Work together and make a video to show our understanding of a part of the story. 

For our reading group we had to pear up with a buddy and use whatever thing we wanted to make. For an example a comic, Video or animation.

So I paired up with Georgia and we used puppet pals to make a video. If you would like to watch our video about Maui and the Jawbone click on the link bellow. 

Week 8 - Summarise

I am blogging this because it was a fun learning task to be able to do and it taught me about how to make potato plates.

We were learning how to summarise in different ways.

Why/Eat up so he can get pudding.What/ Potato plate and peas.how/ Eating his food.

Comment – you think That the potato plate would be yucky.  

Then use the information above to write 2-3 sentences about the event.  max 40 words.

Mum and dad were making dinner. Dad was cooking peas and Veggies. Mum was making the potato plates because there healthy and you don't need to do dishes for the night. The boy was setting up the table like putting knifes and forks out and putting placemats out too. Finally dinner was ready and everybody enjoyed dinner except the boy. So the mum said eat some of your veggies and some of your potato plate. So the boy ate it up and he got to have pudding.

 I am blogging this because I am really proud of this strategy and I'm getting really good at it.

I was learning about times tables and about how to make them easier.

Some students are setting up a school garden.

Do not use a calculator to answer the maths problems below.

a)   Hohepa planted 9 rows with 8 tomato plants in each row.

Show how to work out how many tomato plants he planted altogether.

10x8=80-8=72 Answer: __72___

b) Paul planted 7 rows with 20 carrots in each row.

Show how to work out how many carrots he planted altogether.

7x2=14 and add a 0 to make it 7x20=140 Answer: _____140_____

c)   Iritana planted 5 rows with 14 lettuces in each row.

Show how to work out how many lettuces she planted altogether.

5x10=50 5x4=20 50+20=70 Answer: _____70_____

d) Doug planted 6 rows with 15 strawberry plants in each row.

Show how to work out how many strawberry plants he planted altogether.

6x10=60 6x5=30 60+30=90 Answer: ___90_______
